Dental Services Outreach Program

“Our Dental Services Outreach Program Delivers Professional Dental Care To The Impoverished.”

Dental Services Outreach Program in action.

Our Dental Services Outreach Program provides dental service activities to many hard-to-reach rural communities where dental care is needed. Regular preventive dental care is essential to healthy teeth and gums and helps control heart disease, diabetes, and other medical issues. Additionally, most rural communities need more oral healthcare providers to help achieve the benefits of good oral health.

Several factors contribute to the oral healthcare challenges of rural Philippines. They are:

Access to dental services: Due to the isolation, most hard-to-reach rural communities do not have access to proper dental healthcare.

Oral health literacy: Oral health literacy is the lowest in rural populations. Inadequate oral health care results in poor oral hygiene, leading to medical complications, heart disease, and diabetes. Rural residents with low health literacy tend to consume sugar-sweetened beverages, which adds to the need for dental care and treatments.

Fluoridation of water supplies: Except in the region of Cavite, the Philippines does not add fluoride to its water supplies. As a result, people do not receive the preventive benefits of fluoridated water.

United Families for Humanities, Inc. delivers nonprofit dental services outreach activities in hard-to-reach rural communities. Primarily we cater oral health care services to our patients through outreach campaigns, including dental consultations or check-ups, oral health education, fluoride treatments, and dental extractions. Our outreach services help educate and provide dental care to the poor and indigenous communities that cannot access the care and treatment they desperately need.
